Logan Willis is a Wisconsin-based composer of classical concert music with an avant-garde edge. In his music, he has focused on giving audiences experiences in subjects across the human condition: from something as simple as experiencing a Wisconsin blizzard, to the complexities of depression. Logan holds a Master of Music in composition from the University of Maryland in College Park. Logan previously earned his Bachelor’s in Music from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin; majoring in Music Composition and Oboe Performance. His diverse experiences in instrumental and choral ensembles of varying sizes has led him to craft music that has been described to have “compelling melodies”, “a palette of rich harmonies”, and “formal sophistication.” When he isn’t composing, Logan can often be found analyzing the works of other composers, films, and film scores.
Recordings of select works are available to listen to on Soundcloud and YouTube.
